Patriotic decor

There are a couple of patriotic challenges going on right now ( Our Daily Bread Designs , Simon Says Stamp Challenge ). After I found the Simon Says Stamp Challenge, I discovered that they have a vintage challenge as well ( Simon Says Stamp and Show ) and the Challenge is "Anything Goes"! This piece fits both categories, so I am going to enter it there also! After debating whether or not I wanted to do a card, I decided that I needed some patriotic décor for my home. So I made this piece with a built in stand on the back. After I made it, I realized that I could use this décor not only for the Fourth of July, but also for Memorial Day, and Veteran's Day!   I inked the gingham ribbon with Antique Linen distress ink to tone down the red and give it a more vintage look.    I used chipboard for my base and attached a ribbon stopper at the bottom to keep it from sliding. FWF-Birthday card

I made this card for my aunt. I confused her birthday with my other aunt (her sister) and sent her a card two months early, but she never let on and thanked me so generously for making her a card. It wasn't til I got closer to her real birthday (looking ahead to see who I needed to make cards for) that I realized my mistake. So on her real birthday, I decided that I would send this card to let her know that I realized my mistake. I love it that Unity Stamp Co. sends the goofed up stamps in their kit anyway. They include a note about the mistake and explain that just because there is a mistake doesn't mean that we can't still use it in a creative way! Isn't that awesome! I love it, cause in the world of creating (including God and all of his creation) THERE ARE NO MISTAKES!!!!     Materials: stamps- Unity Stamp Co . FWF at Unity Stamp Co.-Farewell card

It is Friday and time for FWF at Unity Stamp Co. This week has been full of emotions!! Even though I had to say farewell to a co-worker that is transferring to a company center in Florida, the week has been sprinkled with excitement. Some of the excitement I will have to save for a NEAR future post ;-) I am just not at liberty to share just yet, but when I do...I will burst at the seams!! But a couple of things that I can share: 1.) My previous post-Patriotic décor-was drawn at ODBD !! I won a $15 gift certificate! WOOT! 2.) I just found out this afternoon that the same project was picked to be in the designer spotlight over at Simon Says Stamp and Show blog!!! WOOT! WOOT! Here's my co-worker's card. I am gonna miss her shining face! I've tried coloring with Copics before, but my attempts were not so successful. I decided to take a leap and try again. I bought a colorless blender, but even then there is a learning curve. If anyone has advice...I am open to it!!!...
