Hello there, everyone! This is Donna’s BFF and faithful enabler, Lindy, coming to you today to share a project with you! I created this friendship flip book as a gift to my dear friend and as a way to show off some beautiful products over at Purple Pinky Promises! All of the products are linked in the description and a full listing of products are provided at the end of this post.
The basis of this flip book of sherbet-y, glimmery goodness is the Slim Ornate Banner die from Pinkfresh Studio. Just the large and medium sized dies were used to cut the pages and insets from white cardstock. The last, and largest page is the full length of the largest die. Each successively smaller page was cut to be one inch smaller than the page before. The pages and insets were inked with a brush using Catherine Pooler inks in the colors of Party Dress, Orange Peel, Shea Butter, Seafoam, Juniper Mist and Royal Treatment. For the pages, ink around the edges with your desired color. The insets are then inked over the entire surface then sprinkled with water and allowed to dry. Next some glimmery mica based paint was splattered on the insets only and allowed to dry. Glue the insets to the pages.
The Pinkfresh Studio Intricate Mandala die was cut multiple times from white cardstock and inked accordingly to coordinate with the pages. Only the glimmery paint was flicked on the mandala dies – no water was used on them. Arrange the Mandala die cuts to your liking, cutting them to fit and using any cut sections to decorate another section of the page.
The beautiful floral washi tape die cuts used to decorate the pages are the Joyful Bouquet washi tape that were precisely cut with the Joyful Bouquet die by laying it down onto cardstock first and then die cutting. The sentiments used in this project are from Pinkfresh Studio and come from the Joyful Bouquet and My Favorite Things To Say 2 stamp sets.
The sentiments were stamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder onto the following stitched dies from Waffle Flower dies sets: Lacy Layers 5X7 die, A2 Lacy Layers die, Lacy Ovals die and Lacy Circles die.
Finishing it off beautifully is the “Beautiful” die cut from Pinkfresh Studio Classic Words and the letters cut from the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bold die set, spelling out “friend” across the bottom of the pages. Stacking 3 to 4 “Beautiful” white cardstock die cuts under the gold “Beautiful” die cut adds some nice dimension and adding a white cardstock letter die cut under the gold letters helps to keep the layers underneath them from distorting the letters.
Use a binding method of your choice, adorn it with ribbon and your project is complete. To color coordinate my ribbon perfectly, I inked Hug Snug ribbon with the coordinating Catherine Pooler inks. Last but not least, this project was put together using the awesome Bearly Art Glue!
What a lovely gift for a friend! Other possible recipients could be a mother or sister - both six letter words that will match up with six rainbow colors!
