FWF at Unity Stamp Co.-Farewell card

It is Friday and time for FWF at Unity Stamp Co. This week has been full of emotions!! Even though I had to say farewell to a co-worker that is transferring to a company center in Florida, the week has been sprinkled with excitement. Some of the excitement I will have to save for a NEAR future post ;-) I am just not at liberty to share just yet, but when I do...I will burst at the seams!! But a couple of things that I can share: 1.) My previous post-Patriotic décor-was drawn at ODBD!! I won a $15 gift certificate! WOOT! 2.) I just found out this afternoon that the same project was picked to be in the designer spotlight over at Simon Says Stamp and Show blog!!! WOOT! WOOT!

Here's my co-worker's card. I am gonna miss her shining face!

I've tried coloring with Copics before, but my attempts were not so successful. I decided to take a leap and try again. I bought a colorless blender, but even then there is a learning curve. If anyone has advice...I am open to it!!!

Here's a close up. To create a sunset, I inked a separate piece of cardstock with Distress Inks. Then I fussy cut the image and used mounting tape to give the stamped image more dimension. I also added some stickles for dimension.
As you can see, the image isn't perfect. I have learned that the colorless blender will make your outlined image bleed if you are not careful. Does anyone have any advice on what ink to use to avoid this at all?

I placed the other half of the sentiment inside of the card. I didn't use the colorless blender on this one.

Materials used:

Papers-Echo Park: Splash, Neenah cardstock
Tim Holtz Distress Inks by Ranger-Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick, and Tumbled Glass
Stickles-Waterfall
Studio G glitter glue (sand)
Sentiment and large heart stamp-Unity Stamp Co.(present in my HEART)
